The Night Air is an audio adventure where ideas, sounds and music are remixed around a theme. A listening experience animated by dub versions of ABC Radio National’s distinctive programming.Obliquely connected material is re-assembled with sonic glue - letting the listener’s imagination build a new story. A space to find the music in speech and the poetry in ideas, inviting you to take time to unravel the usual media tangle.
Official site is at www.abc.net.au/rn/nightair where you can hear and download the last month of shows. We’ve also just recently started an unofficial blog at www.thenightair.net where we have permanent links to our favourite mixes as well as other interesting listening options.
Alienspeaking are four entities performing unrehearsed and improvised politi-korp irreverent, video game dialogue with nursery rhymes, archival VIP vox and horny wildlife in a “cosmic hop” flave using decks, laptops, roland303, theremin, home-made samplers, kaoss pads, bass, mics. Occasionally we abduct humans with guitars or keys and conduct tests while simultaneously streaming into Second Life http://secondlife.com/ to International friends.
Live every Friday night from 9PM AEST - streaming from:
