On this evening.
A moment in time.
In a space filled with bright white light.
Audio visual performer Flutter Lyon will be tattooed in black ink by one of Sydney’s most in-demand tattoo artists, Rhys Gordon. An incredible artist working with one of the most permanent of mediums. There is no second thought. This is it.
The fiercely sharp and evocative music cluster, Nhomea, will lay forth a sonic proposition to then be joined by the looped vocal tenderness of Lyon. A rich soundscape shall no doubt fill the tiny space with diverse textures, breaths, tonal exploration and the undeniable buzz and skin play of the tattoo gun.
The application of the tattoo will be filmed and projected live by new media artist Harriet Birks.
This is a haunting experiment in mental capability.
This is a performance conceived by Lyon in her pursuit to understand more about the idea and action of courage.
The interplay of courage with thought and emotion.
The visual and aural result of an engagement with courage.
The importance for courage to be questioned more thoroughly, and exercised more openly, within our present society.
A permanent branded moment aligning one person’s commitment to what they say and do and feel.
