current member of the splinter orchestra, and representing the great community of exploratory musicians who reside in the blue mountains.
kris wanders (melb) - sax
slawek janicki (poland/nsw) - bass
q-ba janicki (poland) - drums.
free jazz veteran kris wanders, who’s sound must be heard to be believed, will be accompanied by father-son rhythm section of slawek janicki and q-ba janicki - coming all the way from poland.
jo truman (blue mtns)- voice
warren burt (wollongong) - live processing.
the singer/voice artist jo truman is an improvisor with a wide range of extended (and other) vocal techniques in her sound/music repertoire. in this performance composer/performer warren burt will be performing with jo, processing her voice live, fragmenting it and modulating it with a selection of recently developed sound changing software. burt will take this software to modify and fragment truman’s voice, providing an accompaniment of sound shards made of her voice itself. live interaction between the two of them will mean that the solo and its accompaniment will be continually interactive and responsive.
